A Spiritual Guru in Unlikely Places

In my regular church attending, I have really come to identify with the pastor in a way that I haven’t in the past. In grade school I was too young to think twice about what that guy was up there talking about. In high school, we didn’t have a regular pastor saying mass so I didn’t connect with anyone. But now that I am old enough, have my own family to worry about, and can respect the teachings from this “spiritual guru” I find it fulfilling in ways that others things can imitate. This has all been a journey. I didn’t wake up one day and decide to work on my spiritual life all of a sudden.

I decided in researching some “spiritual gurus”, I would include here some of the early inspiration I had to develop my spiritual life. Videos and interviews all the way from a master yogi to Jim Carrey. Inspiration can come from anywhere.

Maya Angelou.

Guru Fatha Singh Khalsa

And my favorite, Jim Carrey:

I have a list of videos on Youtube that inspire me. I take notes in a small booklet during the pastor’s homily in church. This week was all about experimenting with these things in order to strengthen my relationship with God, a higher power, and with myself.

What do you use in times of weakness?

Does it help to remember your higher power?

Who or what do you turn to when you faith needs a boost?

There is a reason that I focused on “The Mind” for the month of March, because I will need all of those resources for this month’s resolution, “The Body”. My next post will be about my “takeaways” after a month of expanding my mind.

Happy Monday!

Go in Peace!

Namaste!
